The hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Kyoto. Close to the Yasaka shrine complex and Gion district, with a beautiful sakura tree's by the river just behind the hotel. Also it it located just next to a main shopping district, meaning you get the best of both sides of Kyoto, the modern and historic, perfect! The hotel was beautifully presented and despite our room being a modern I suppose "western" style, it had that old Japanese charm of tatami mat flooring, shoji door to expose the window and a matcha tea set, which we loved! The staff were very friendly and spoke a great level of English which helped us out as out Japanese is a bit rusty! Downstairs there was a relaxing communal room where you could help your self to hot and cold drinks which was nice to see. You could also help yourself to any extra toiletries you wanted including some lovely luxury goods, which was a nice touch! The hotel also offers a small museum exhibit near the front door explaining the history of the site on where the hotel sits. The Italian restaurant in the basement was a lovely end to one of our days too, a nice relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a day of walking thousands of steps!

First, I fell in love with the room ! It is a mix of modern and traditional, it was amazing ! It is more spacious than most of hotel’s rooms in Japan. The bathroom was spacious too ! The only little thing is that there is not a lot of space to put your stuff on in the bathroom so if you have a lot of products it might be complicated but it was fine for me ! 😊 The exterior entrance and the lobby were great too ! It amazed me from the beginning 😆. It also has a tiny museum ! The reception was kind and could speak well English so it was reassuring with my broken Japanese 😅 The hotel also has this eco friendly system for cleaning your room which I thought was great ! They also give you a little matcha sweet at your check-in, it’s cute 😊 The localisation is great ! The street near Pontocho and 10 minutes walk to Gion and Yasaka Jinja. Some other shopping streets near by like Nishiki, Teramachi and Sanjo. And close to train stations, especially the Keihan Main Line that you can take to go to Fushimi Inari Taisha. It was my last stop in Japan and I loved it ! ありがとうございます!🤗

This was by far our favorite stay over the course of our 3 week honeymoon in Japan. The property is beyond gorgeous. It has the perfect traditional Japanese zen aesthetic combined with a modern design touch. The semi outdoor bath in our room was so relaxing and looked out into our private garden. The room was spacious, clean, meticulously designed and so relaxing. There were also all of the amenities we could possibly need, so our stay was extremely comfortable. We even stayed in one night because we just wanted to enjoy the room! The staff went out of their way to make us feel special on our honeymoon with a private dinner, a handmade card & icecream to our room. We felt so welcomed and couldn’t stop talking about how special our time was there throughout the rest of our trip. It was such a memorable experience and something we will treasure forever! I will be highly recommending Nazuna to our friends/family if they visit Kyoto and we will for sure be back!

Location is excellent, close to Sanjo station and walking distance to many areas of the city meaning everywhere we wanted to go was easily accessible. Lovely room, very spacious and beds were super comfortable. Room was quiet and great black out blinds meant we slept very very well. Bathroom was small but suitable, water was hot and there is daily provision of clean fresh towels. Lovely lounge area in the lobby with pleasant machine coffee provided throughout the day. Coin laundry room is very handy and you can control via an app to pay with apple pay and keep time on your load.
